WASHINGTON, January 24, 2023 – The Chertoff Group, a global security advisory firm that enables clients to navigate changes in security risk, technology and policy, today announced the promotions of Aaron Roth to principal in the Strategic Advisory Services practice and Ryan Hoffman to principal of the Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) practice.
Roth leads the Federal Strategy practice by helping clients navigate and grow their business footprint with the federal government. He also provides strategic advisory services on Security Risk. Before joining the Chertoff Group in 2020, Roth completed 31 years of public service, including senior-level positions in Intelligence, counterterrorism and law enforcement. He held leadership roles at the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and at the U.S. Coast Guard, where he was the strategic advisor to the commandant.
Hoffman has amassed a 15-year track record of advising sellers in the defense, cybersecurity, and government technology markets. He has executed more than 50 transactions with an aggregate total of more than $3.0 billion value. Hoffman, who joined The Chertoff Group in 2012, is also actively involved in the firm’s private equity investments.

The Chertoff Group Announces Additional Promotions
Ian Lodge was promoted to associate of the M&A Advisory practice. Ian supports clients across sell-side banking as well as buy-side due diligence engagements. Monica Rivero was promoted to senior analyst in the Strategic Advisory Services practice where she supports all aspects of client engagement.
