THE CHERTOFF GROUP ANNOUNCES 2015 PROMOTIONS

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Chertoff Group, a global security advisory firm that provides business strategy, risk management and merger and acquisition advisory services, has announced eight staff promotions.

“We are proud to recognize each of these individuals for their hard work, incredible dedication and continuous contributions to the Firm,” said Michael Chertoff, Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of The Chertoff Group. “Not only have they contributed their time and talent to support the growth of the Firm, but they continue to deliver best-in-class services and value to our clients.”

Adam Isles to Principal – Since joining the Firm in 2013, Adam has been instrumental to building out our Security Services practice area, with a particular focus on helping clients establish an appropriate risk management framework to inform enterprise security assessments, risk mitigation investments and overall approach to governance and policy-related decisions.  Adam supports Chertoff Group engagements across multiple industry sectors including energy, financial services, healthcare and retail.

Debbie Eng to Managing Director – One of the first members of The Chertoff Group team after opening the doors in 2009, Debbie has been tremendously instrumental in both client development as well as lending her skillset in standing up and managing the Firm’s internal operations.  She will continue to support our Business Strategy practice, working with other members of the team to help shape and optimize client strategies and position them for growth.

Katy Montgomery to Managing Director – Katy has been instrumental in managing relationships and client engagements across both the Security Services and Business Strategy practice areas, including some of The Chertoff Group’s longest serving clients. Working with a wide range of companies across different sectors, Katy has helped clients with a range of strategic communications activities – including incident communications planning, stakeholder outreach, thought leadership, strategic positioning and media relations – while also lending her efforts to broader cybersecurity engagements and new business activities.

Jason Mayer to Senior Director – As part of the Firm’s Security Services practice, Jason will continue to support clients in helping them meet today’s physical and cybersecurity challenges.  Since joining the Firm in 2013, Jason has worked on numerous engagements involving physical and cyber assessments and risk mitigation strategies, which involve reviewing policies and procedures, conducting interviews, and providing recommendations regarding security best practices and compliance activities.

Lauren Webster to Senior Director – Lauren has been a significant contributor in delivering results to clients who have relied on our integrated Business Strategy and M&A advice in the cybersecurity market.  She has been instrumental in launching Chertoff Capital’s cybersecurity investment banking practice, having advised on the sales of Entrust Inc. to DataCard Group and Tripwire to Belden.  As Senior Director, Lauren will continue to help grow our west coast operations and support the M&A team on Chertoff Capital opportunities.

Anna Lusthoff to Deputy Director for Strategic Communications – Anna plays a valuable role in executing the Firm’s strategic communication activities, which include support and organization of the Firm’s media relations, the website and social media, The Chertoff Group Security Series and other internal and external communications initiatives.  Anna earned her M.A. in Political Communications from American University’s School of Public Affairs in 2014.

Zack Miller to Associate – Since joining The Chertoff Group in 2012 as an intern, Zack has supported The Chertoff Group and our ability to help clients strategically grow their enterprise by providing essential analytical support and enabling clients to better understand their positioning and competitive advantage. He has also worked on multiple M&A transactions involving clients in the technology and national security sectors.  Zack graduated magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in 2013, achieving Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Government, with a concentration on International Relations and Security Studies.

Emily Dumont to Special Assistant – Emily joined The Chertoff Group in 2014 and quickly excelled in her previous position as Administrative Assistant, where she executed on the office’s operational priorities and managed the Firm’s interns.  As Special Assistant, Emily will provide high-level support to our Firm’s senior leaders.
