Sean Horner is a Director at The Chertoff Group, where he leverages his diverse US Government and private sector security experience to help clients build, secure, and maintain more resilient and competitive organizations within their market sectors. Mr. Horner has an in-depth understanding of enterprise security solutions, tailored security operations, physical/technical security, all-source intelligence utilization, facility security, and the design, construction, and operation of critical facilities.
Prior to joining The Chertoff Group, Mr. Horner supported over 10,000 global personnel as a Corporate Security Manager for a multibillion-dollar cleared defense contractor, where he was responsible for all security-related operations. In addition to overseeing corporate security operations for a nearly $2B business unit, Mr. Horner was responsible for the oversight and successful implementation of the business unit’s National Industrial Security Program.
Immediately prior to entering the private sector, Mr. Horner served domestically and abroad, including in active war zones, for nearly 10 years as an Intelligence Officer at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). During his government service, Mr. Horner performed in a variety of capacities with the CIA’s Office of Security, Directorate of Support, Directorate of Operations, Directorate of Science & Technology, and was detailed to the National Counterintelligence and Security Center and National Reconnaissance Office. For his service, Mr. Horner was presented with several CIA and Intelligence Community performance-related awards, including an Intelligence Community Award for Excellence in Physical and Technical Security, presented by the Director of National Intelligence.
Mr. Horner earned a Bachelor of Science from Auburn University, and is a Board-Certified Protection Professional (CPP) as designated by ASIS International. Mr. Horner has also completed numerous US Government-sponsored physical, personnel, and operational security, leadership, and government contracting training courses.
