Prominent Security and Information Technology Expert Joins The Chertoff Group as Managing Director
WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Chertoff Group, a global security advisory firm that provides risk management, business strategy, and merchant banking advisory services, is pleased to announce that Jason Cook, former Vice President of Security and Chief Information Security Officer at BT Americas, is joining the Firm as a Managing Director, effective March 13th. Mr. Cook is a highly respected security professional with 20 years of management experience in the IT Network and Security sector.
At The Chertoff Group, Mr. Cook will work with the Firm’s clientele to develop growth strategies, identify market solutions and advise on policy impacts across the information technology and cybersecurity sectors.

Prior to joining The Chertoff Group, Mr. Cook worked at BT where he was the Vice President of Security and Chief Information Security Officer for BT Americas. In this role, Mr. Cook led the regional Security Practice responsible for sales, portfolio, partners, engineering, professional services and physical and cyber operations. In addition, he acted as the regional CISO and served as a member of the BT Americas board and operating committee, ensuring that BT consistently maintained high standards for security, risk management, and compliance.

During his tenure at BT, Mr. Cook was responsible for delivering solutions for more than 7,000 of BT’s global customers across the company’s lines of business. With his team’s help, Mr. Cook helped to create and provide customers with innovative service propositions and solutions. Mr. Cook’s twenty-plus years with BT have given him technical and leadership experience in infrastructure, architecture, development and extensive experience working with vendors.
