Jason Mayer is a senior risk management advisor at The Chertoff Group, where he uses his in-depth understanding of today’s security challenges to help boardrooms and company leadership protect their corporate assets in an increasingly dynamic security environment. Mayer advises Fortune 500 companies as well as government organizations on assessing, mitigating, and monitoring an array of risks including physical and personnel security, cyber, financial risk, and reputation/brand protection. Mayer is a Board Certified Physical Security Professional (PSP) as designated by ASIS International, an adjunct professor at Georgetown University’s School of Medicine, and a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations.

Jason joined The Chertoff Group from the Central Intelligence Agency’s Directorate of Operations, where he worked to identify and counter threats from our most dangerous adversaries. During his government career, Mr. Mayer served as a top advisor to National Security Council senior staff as well as an intelligence officer and strategic planner for multiple U.S. Intelligence Community components including the National Counterterrorism Center, the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency, and the National Security Agency.

Prior to entering government service, Mayer spent several years in the private sector advising U.S. national security agencies on strategic planning,policy development and implementation.  While working as a consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton and later for The Analysis Corporation, Mayer formulated classified national strategies and targeted action plans approved by the President of the United States, including the U.S. Government’s first interagency, coordinated response plan to a possible terrorist attack on the homeland.  Mayer later served as Director of Government Relations for NYSE Euronext, supporting the New York Stock Exchange, its partner organizations and its list companies on Capitol Hill.

Mr. Mayer holds a JD from American University’s Washington College of Law, a Master’s Degree in International Security from Georgetown University, and a B.A. in Diplomatic History and International Relations from the University of Pennsylvania where he received the James A. Markley service award for excellence in International Relations.
